Misdirection

Last week a friend was driving us to a meeting along roads she had known well for several years. As a matter of habit however, she clicked her mobile phone into a dashboard cradle so that she could follow her progress with the on-screen map and follow instructions from the satnav app. As often happens, she was instructed to take roads she didn’t know and inevitably got lost. Her blind faith in technology caused her to follow orders that made no sense and to end up somewhere she didn’t recognise. I’ve learned to say nothing in such circumstances as the driver is usually embarrassed enough already and stressed by the situation. For me to say ’I told you so’ would quickly sour a friendship.

Over the last few years society has been deliberately misdirected in many ways by those we have previously trusted to keep us right. Well intentioned friends have blindly followed a package of measures that made no sense only to end up in a world we no longer recognise. Such is our need to ‘follow the leader’ and to abdicate responsibility for our actions to those in authority, pretending to follow the science, that family members and long-time friends have often made very hurtful criticisms of those who dare to think independently. A frequent insult is to label such free-thinkers as irresponsible ‘Conspiracy Theorists’. It is conveniently forgotten that we depend on every investigative detective, that ‘smells a rat’, to follow the evidence until his theory is proven and the conspiracy revealed.

In such cases the perpetrators are usually punished with prison sentences, but in today’s world the opposite is true. Responsible journalists like Julian Assange, with the guts to expose truths hidden from the public by those in charge, take refuge in embassies before being incarcerated for years in Belmarsh. Meanwhile the puppets in Downing Street drink freely at their garden parties and laugh at the public they lied to. It takes a ‘special kind of stupid’ for such politicians to believe that they’ll still have a seat when the music stops. Since they can see that time rapidly approaching they are back-peddling like crazy or simply jumping ship to crawl back under any convenient stone.

We are simply seeing the 21st century version of the tactics of deception that have been exploited throughout history. Wherever there has been lust for power there have been lies. Whether it be from a collapsing Roman Empire morphing into the Church of Rome, vaccines being declared ‘safe and effective’, wholesome food being genetically modified to promote ‘High Tech farming’ or even that men can get pregnant. It should surprise no one that the climate crisis is a farce too. Farmers across the world know it and are protesting against culling animals and rewilding to reduce the CO2 emissions when they actually use CO2 to help grow produce in greenhouses.  When did it ever make sense to pay farmers not to grow food? Shortly after eating ze worms, they’ll be eating us.

As many lights are going out many more are coming on. People are awakening to a new reality even though the transition is painful. There is no way out but through but beyond the future is beautiful; that is where our focus belongs. Let us not be misled by the empty promises of technology but rather let every man and woman return to the beauty of our natural heritage and bring forth the perfect world we were given to enjoy and pass on even better to future generations.
