Great and Terrible Humbug
Today I finished reading the children’s classic ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to familiarise myself with it before reading it to my granddaughter. Wouldn’t it be great to have a pair of silver shoes whose heels you needed only to click three times to transport you to any destination - without having to wear a face mask or subject yourself to a body search and shoe / belt / baggage X-Ray?
The tale’s bursting with morals as befits any children’s book and Dorothy is very forgiving when she discovers the trickery of the Great and Terrible Oz. Scarecrow contemptuously calls him humbug while Dorothy more kindly declares him ‘a good man but a bad wizard.’ How will the world respond when the greatest con of our times is exposed for what it is? Will we respond like a lynch mob of brainless scarecrows or will we forgive human error and grow wiser?
Recent weeks have seen a subtle shift in the reporting of the covid situation. When it became clear that the death rate was declining rapidly attention was redirected to the number of cases in the population. This can be relied upon to continue increasing in step with the number of tests being carried out. What’s not explained is that the RT PCR test is unreliable for diagnosis and that inactive fragments of a coronavirus infection from years before will be sufficient to yield a positive result. One perfectly healthy couple in the US took the test in good faith only to find themselves quarantined with ankle bracelets to alert the authorities if they left their home for groceries. There is already widespread evidence of government overreach fueled by the stoking of irrational fear and a growing contempt for independent thinkers.
Another downplayed aspect of the illness is its demographic profile. In the US, 80% of deaths are occurring in the >65 age group and with an overall mortality rate, now released by the CDC in Atlanta as 0.26%, the chance of someone <44 years dying is circa 1 in 16,500. So why are we rushing to introduce a vaccine for an illness with a mortality rate similar to that a serious flu? Why is it conscionable to introduce a vaccine without rigorous safety testing? So far all attempts to create an mRNA based vaccine for coronavirus strains have failed. Lab animals, with vaccine stimulated antibodies, routinely die when exposed to a live virus. Even young, fit soldiers are becoming very ill during early trials. Is it at all plausible that the elderly can be protected in this way?
The danger is that the next step is effectively a forced vaccination. Anyone choosing not to have it would be effectively excluded from society. Companies like ‘Projects For Good’ are closely following the ‘vaccine hesitant’ through programs like Project VCTR, which monitors all media traffic 24 x 7 with the intention of increasing the effectiveness of Pharma messaging. But the closely controlled narrative is being challenged and alternative views are being shared and growing in acceptance. A genuine grassroots movement, built on real science, is destroying the image of the great and terrible covid disease. It remains to be seen whether the perpetrators will escape justice in a hot-air balloon. I don’t care as long as they are never heard from again.
In desperation we are being warned of the forthcoming second wave. ’Be afraid, be very afraid’ and trust your government when they demand your compliance. Is the new normal a totalitarian world? If the first duty of government is the protection of its people then why have we never heard even the simplest advice on how to protect ourselves? Take Vitamin C (1grm three times per day). Get 15 minutes direct sun exposure on your skin each day for Vitamin D. Reduce sugar consumption to protect your immune system. Take 50mg Zinc daily to inhibit virus reproduction. Don’t worry about anything; Fight or Flight stress from 24 x 7 fear-porn also depresses the immune system. Greet your neighbours with a smile. Project love and warmth to everyone and be of good cheer.
